At Goodenough Farms, we are committed to raising our beef cattle with the highest ethical standards. Our practices center around transparency, giving customers clear insight into every aspect of our cattle’s lives. We never use hormones or antibiotics, focusing instead on promoting genuine animal welfare and producing beef of exceptional quality.

Having undergone Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) certification, we take pride in raising our herd using current management practices so that you can trust what you are buying.

Our cows are an extension of our family and we believe in only offering them the highest quality feeds. The cows are free grazed on the farm and provided additional hay raised right here on the farm. They are offered feed to supplement their diet and ensure that everyone receives the proper vitamins and minerals to keep the herd happy and healthy. This mix will never include hormones or antibiotics.

We finish our steers on a combination of hay and grain to create the ideal fat content within the meat providing for a rich flavor and tender cut. Feeding grain and grass to finish enhances the beef flavor over 100% grass-finished beef.

What started as a Black Angus herd are transitioning into an Angus-Akaushi blend through hand selected genetics being introduced into the lines through artificial inseminations (A.I.) and selective breeding. Akaushi or Japanese Browns are one of six native Japanese cattle breeds and one of the four breeds included in the Wagyu breed. Akaushi beef offers a unique combination of health and taste benefits. It is known for its exceptional marbling, which delivers a rich, buttery flavor and tender texture that enhances every bite. Nutritionally, akaushi beef is lower in total fat and cholesterol compared to conventional beef, making it a heart-healthy choice. It’s also high in monounsaturated fats, which can support cardiovascular health. Additionally, akaushi beef is packed with essential nutrients like iron, zinc, and B vitamins, contributing to overall wellness. This balance of superior taste and nutritional value makes akaushi beef a premium option for health-conscious food lovers.
